It is good to be healthy and back to myself!!!

posted by: Troy

So things have been going well as usual. I did have a two week span where I was SOOOOOO busy and just could not get my schedule in order. It was tough to get to the gym but I still management to get exercise in and still play soccer (I have some footage of it so get excited!!!) I just can not believe that I have lost so much weight and keep going. It is awesome and the thing I love most about it is that I am also gaining muscle. I can see the weight I am lifting getting heavier and heavier every week and I am starting to see some definition in places there has not been for a while! I can run longer now as well and it was really evident to me when playing soccer. Some of you may have remembered one of my last blogs about how none of my clothes fit me.

Well I still didnt want to spend money on new clothes so I decided to go through the bags of old stuff that I "grew" out of. I am a pack rat so all my clothes from freshmen year are in those bags. I found some really nice clothes in there but its not like they would actually fit right?? NO THEY ALL FIT!!!!

It was awesome timing the fact that when I went back to visit my college everyone I saw kept asking me if we were back in freshmen year because I make them feel like it.

I couldnt be happier and just want to continue working hard and being heathly.

THERE IS NO DOUBT I WILL CONTINUE THIS LIFESTYLE AFTER THE COMPETITION!!

Been sick and really busy...

posted by: Troy

So I haven't been able to blog for a week because I have been once again... so very busy and I figure at least I am still getting to the gym and eating right! I mentioned I am in a soccer league now and its awesome. I can't even tell you how much I love playing sports again and what a workout it is. I even go to the gym that day before the games too so that means I am getting to good workouts in one day. Makes me feel good to know I am working hard. Eating on time and on a schedule has still be difficult but I have been having my salads and grilled chicken. About the sickness... It has been holding me back and it has been making it hard to keep my energy up. I have been trying to have do everything right, workout hard but when you are coughing up a lung, it doesn't look good in the gym, but I have still been going!

I want to point again to other people who are trying to lose weight that it is hard and it may seem impossible but you can do it! I can not even describe how great I feel being back to myself and I still have a ways to go but being more in shape and active and having more energy is amazing. It feels so good to be comfortable in my skin. When you see people and old friends telling you that you look great and back to yourself too.... it feels that much better!

Anyone can do it... Just commit yourself to it and it is okay if you trip and stumble... it is natural and I know all of us have but we still keep pushing

I dont know if I can pull off my old clothes anymore!!!

posted by: Troy
I have been putting off buying new clothes and at 22 years old with NO dispensable income it was not much of a choice especially now that I am a new grad student. Today when I woke up though, when I put on my clothes I loked stupid! I mean I have no problem admitting it but I am about done with my originally belt (that is 7 notches people!) and my pants are just scrunching up. I went fo an interview today for an internship (yes I got it haha) and put on my suit, well the jacket fits great but the pants lok like I stole them from someone 2 times the size of me haha I can believe I hd to go in with them on but there was no option. I have been playing bball a lot more now which is so awesome. I cant even describe how much better working out is now that I know after I get to go hit the court. I went to play with the Emerson College team for the first time this week. Now I was nervous because it had been a while since I had played with collegiate level players and was not sure if I was going to be able to keep up. I mean I WAS OUT OF SHAPE... but I played the whole time with ease. I can not even describe how happy I am that I did this challenge.

Challenges still exist though... school, working, rent, vehicle repair, T pass, FOOOOOOD (its expensive now), internships, DJing and the list goes on but this is why this show is actually a reality show... WE ARE DEALING WITH OUR LIVES!!!!

PLAYING BASKETBALL AGAIN!!

posted by: Troy

So after dropping a good amount of weight already I needed to get back on the court and into some team athletics. I am a really competitive person and playing sports helps get it out of my system haha. Well I just joined a team and will be playing ball in a league every week. I played last night and it felt so good to get back on the court. The best part about this too is that they also have a soccer team I will be playing for . This means I will be getting into shape while playing my favorite sports... I couldn t really ask for more. Things are going great and the weight... I think is continuing to drop.

I think I will need a new belt by next wk!!!!!!! That will be 7 belt knotches!!!!

I am also at my last day at the law firm I work at and I am so excited to go back to school. I have a lot on my plate for the next two wks though... which were supposed to be the weeks I could take a break! Not happening though. Instead I am bringing my sister to college in NYC. She is going to Columbia then home, then meeting with clients, interviews, getting ready for school, 5 booked gigs as of now and trying to be home to help my parents with the transition of no kids being home... yes I am going to be driving a lot (That is if my car is fixed by then)

So thats me right now... staying on track, working hard, and just trying to keep my life in order. Its not easy as we all know.

Lawson had a good idea... post pics of your progress to guys!!

posted by: Troy

I just wanted to thank Derek for his compliment and support and even though we are all competing haha it really is awesome how well we're all doing. We are all going through this challenge of trying to keep up with our lives and change our lifestyles... Im sure we can all vouche for that. Lawson had a good idea... she said everyone should post some pics of before the competition and now. Not only are we updating other people of our progress it is really a shocker when you see the difference your hard work is making... I know that I dont really see it until you look at something like this. We all talked about at our last taping how other people were saying how we look thinner but we cant really tell but this may help and it really helps to keep motivating and pushing you... DO IT!!!

a little picture comparison of my progress...

posted by: Troy

I was talking to one of my friends and she was telling me that she definitely sees improvement and a lot of change. I told her thanks but said I know I still have a ways to go. Well she then sent two photos she found of me online to me to compare the difference. The first is with my nephew about a month before Knock Out The Fat started and the second picture is of me this past wkend... it definitely brought my hopes up about all the hard work but I still say I have a LOOOOONG way to go... what do you think?

Lawson could not have written the Plateau blog at a better time

posted by: Troy
I knew going into this that this would not be easy. I am 22 living in Boston with two other guys and all of us under thae age of 25. All of my friends just graduated college and many are beginning to move to Boston too which means there is a lot to celebrate about. I am a very loud, social person and love to go out and be around people but I have really had to slow down from the college days. This means a lot to me and I really want to make a big change but after the results of last month I have trying to make sure I know that I can not expect another 18 LBS WEIGHT LOSS! It is not realistic. I know I am going to hit a plateau and I expect it but I have a feeling its comnig. I have been eating right and going to the gym at least 4 times a wk. I have been changing up my routines like Michael said. I have been doing spinning classes (I highly recommend) kickboxing class and other new cardio as well as more new and diverse lifting exercises. I can see more change happening in my body but I just have a feeling its coming... the dreaded plateau. Its funny to because I do want to get to the point in which I stop losing weight and actually begin gaining weight (muscle of course). I just want to make sure I am doing everything right. I REALLY want to take advantage of this opportunity and with so many other things going on in my life (once again we still have to live our real lives) I dont want to fall off track.

Surrounded by temptaotion doesnt make this easy...

posted by: Troy

This past wkend was really tough for me. As soon as I was out of work on Friday I had to go to do a promotion for Naked Juice till midnight then twelve hour days on Saturday and Sunday. Not only was I not able to go to the gym on these days but it was hard to keep my diet and eating habits in check. You don't get many breaks to eat the multiple meals. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and here is the best part... the food they were serving and the smells that were wafting around me all day and night was CARNIVAL FOOD!! Everything was fried and greasy and I am telling you that after sitting in the sun for hours on end and wanting to eat that food looked better then good butttttt I didnt break. The only thing I bought was grilled chicken on a stick and at $7 dollars for two extremely small pieces it was not really sufficing my apetite. I did it though and made it through and now back to the work week. I have actually been feeling REALLY GUILTY today because I didnt go to the gym on fri, sat, or sun. I know I had no choice and I was working but it doesnt make me feel better. I just need to realize that being determined is good but there will be things that will get in my way. I will be going to the gym, today and going to try again tomm before my second job and also on wed, thurs and hopfully friday before the second job as well. I just want to take full advantage of this opportunity and the last thing I want is to have any type of regrets...

ohh and I start school in ONE MONTH!!!! (I cant wait)

Still noticing change... even though the wkend was tough!!!!

posted by: Troy

So this past wkend after the weigh in (I cant tell you how much I have lost... You will have to wait till the next episode) I was travelling everywhere. I went back to NYC to Long ISland then to Jersey, then western MA and back to Boston. This was from Firday afternoon to sunday afternoon. There was no time to work out which made me feel soooooooo guilty but I still ate well. It is hard going to BBQs and not even touchingthe meat!! Thank goodness one of the BBQs had my favorite... GRILLED CHICKEN!! So this week has been going well. It has been tough with all of the pre grad school work, DJing and Emceeing events, and doing promotions. I have done all this week so far and it Wednesday... OHHHHHH and I have my full time paralegal job. I have still made it to the gym and been working hard. I am sooo sore today which is AWESOME and I am going back again today. I have been using protein shakes starting this week. I have one about an hr before I go to the gym and only ones that say 100% WHEY... Thanks Michael and Lawson for the advice.

Well time for me to go... Oh ya Yannick stop looking so think in your pics!! I dont need you beating me!!

Been a few days but still going good!! Its tough being this busy though!

posted by: Troy

I have been staying on track but it has been difficult. I do not have much of a problem saying no to bad foods or cravings. I am the type of person who can just shut that off but my lifestyle is what makes it difficult. I am always on the go and never stopping and many times this means forgetting to eat or just not being able too. As I mentioned in another blog I worked a 12 hour shift on Saturday. I ate before I went which was around 7 AM. In the heat which was above 90 degrees that day and being the worker I am, I let people take breaks before I. The only time before I had my break to eat was a piece of pizza at 1 PM. Let me tell you, when your body is getting used to eating every three hours you feel like your starving after not eating for 6 hours. I was not going to but then I felt like having a small piece of pizza is better then not eating at all because I know my metabolism was slowing down now especially with the heat, I was not feeling so hot. I think I made the right decision but I will be asking Michael and Lawson. That is just one example of how my lifestyle makes it difficult but I know I am doing well. I have been making sure to hit the gym and I am really starting to love it. I feel better about myself and healthier living this kind of lifestyle. Its funny because I felt sooooooooooo guilty for eating the pizza. I think it is because I really want this. Again another tough wkend ahead for me with a lot of travelling. Boston to NYC to Jersey to Western MA then back to Boston... thats a lot in one wkend haha especially with them being a birthday party and grad party and my friends like to party hahaha I know Ill be good. I have self control!!!

I will keep you updated but I should probably get to some fo my work....
